Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature accurately.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients to enhance their quality of life.
- Assist registered nurses with medical procedures and administer medication as prescribed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitized patient environment to prevent infection.
- Transport patients to and from treatment areas, meals, or therapy sessions.
- Document patient progress and report any changes in condition to the nursing staff immediately.
Qualifications
- Current and valid CNA certification/license issued by the New York State Department of Health.
- High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required.
- Previous experience in a clinical or home healthcare setting is highly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or willingness to obtain).
