Responsibilities
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding, ensuring dignity and comfort at all times.
- Provide basic wound care and change dressings as directed by the RN or LPN.
- Respond promptly to call lights and patient requests, ensuring a high standard of responsiveness and care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to update them on patient status and changes in condition.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment, including bed-making and room sanitation.
- Document all care provided and patient observations accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Qualifications
- Current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Colorado.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients and families.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift patients frequently throughout the shift.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team during the night shift.
