Responsibilities
- Monitor Patient Health: Observe and report changes in patient condition, vital signs, and behavior to the nursing staff.
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Provide personal hygiene assistance, mobility support, and help with meals and dressing.
- Administer Medications: Follow strict protocols to administer prescribed medications and treatments as directed by the RN/LPN.
- Document Care: Accurately complete patient charts, shift reports, and incident documentation in a timely manner.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to patient emergencies and assist in maintaining a safe environment.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and valid New Mexico CNA license required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or home health setting preferred.
- CPR: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross required.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, turn, and move patients up to 50 lbs; standing for extended periods is common.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and a patient-first attitude.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
