Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, and pulse, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting to the RN.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, ensuring they feel safe and comfortable during the night shift.
- Document patient care plans, changes in condition, and any incidents in the electronic health record system (EHR) accurately.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for patients, following all infection control protocols and safety regulations.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments as directed by the charge nurse or physician.
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required, currently active in the state of Texas.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently during night shift hours.
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull patients weighing up to 200 lbs safely.
- Compassionate, patient, and detail-oriented demeanor.
