Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting to the charge nurse.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility support with dignity and respect.
- Provide compassionate patient care and emotional support, fostering a safe and healing environment for our night shift population.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by the Registered Nurse or Physician, strictly adhering to safety protocols and medication administration procedures.
- Document patient care plans, changes in condition, and daily logs accurately in the electronic health record system.
- Communicate effectively with the nursing staff and multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care throughout the shift.
Qualifications
- Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification and current CPR certification required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently during the night shift.
- Demonstrated ability to handle critical situations with composure and professionalism.
- Commitment to HIPAA compliance and strict patient privacy standards.
