Responsibilities
- Monitor Patient Vital Signs: Regularly check and record blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to ensure patient stability.
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Provide compassionate support with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting needs.
- Medication Administration: Assist residents with medication reminders and document administration as directed by the RN.
- Patient Comfort & Safety: Implement fall prevention strategies and ensure a safe environment for all patients throughout the night.
- Documentation: Accurately complete shift notes and care plans in electronic health records (EHR).
- Communication: Collaborate effectively with the night shift nursing staff and communicate changes in patient condition immediately.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency calls and assist in crisis situations as required.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) License: Must hold a valid and current CNA license in the state of North Carolina.
- High School Diploma: Minimum requirement of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- Night Shift Availability: Must be available to work rotating night shifts (e.g., 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM).
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients safely for extended periods.
- Compassionate Nature: Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to help the elderly and disabled.
- Computer Literacy: Basic computer skills for electronic documentation.
