Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, and report any abnormalities to the Charge Nurse immediately.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, including transferring from bed to wheelchair and using walkers or canes.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment to prevent infections and ensure patient comfort.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by licensed nursing staff, strictly adhering to safety protocols.
- Respond promptly to patient calls and emergencies during the night shift, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license currently active and in good standing in the State of Illinois.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Previous experience in a hospital, nursing home, or home healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, night shift environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients weighing up to 250 lbs with assistance.
- Candidate must pass a background check and drug screening.
