Responsibilities
- Monitor and accurately record patient vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature) throughout the night shift.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
- Implement and follow patient care plans under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN).
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and safe patient environment at all times.
- Communicate changes in patient condition or concerns to the nursing staff immediately.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients during the night hours.
Qualifications
- Current, active, and unencumbered CNA license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (ACLS preferred but not mandatory).
- Previous experience in acute care, long-term care, or hospital settings preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
- Must be able to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively during the night shift.
