Responsibilities
- Monitor Patient Status: Regularly observe and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) and report any changes to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Provide compassionate care for patients including bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting assistance as needed.
- Medication Support: Assist in the preparation and administration of medications under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Patient Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, ensuring they are comfortable, informed, and have their needs met throughout the night shift.
- Safety & Hygiene: Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients and staff, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient care activities and observations in electronic health records (EHR).
Qualifications
- Current CA CNA License: Must hold a valid and active Certified Nursing Assistant license issued by the state of California.
- CPR Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (ACLS preferred but not mandatory).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Night Shift Availability: Must be willing and able to work rotating night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
