Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including vital signs, EKGs, and medication administration
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring sterile environments
- Assist physicians with procedures and document patient records accurately
- Coordinate patient flow and manage appointment schedules efficiently
- Perform phlebotomy and collect lab specimens following HIPAA protocols
- Respond to patient inquiries and address concerns with empathy
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in hospital or urgent care setting
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proficiency in EMR systems (Epic preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts
- Valid Indiana state medical assistant license
