Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and feeding assistance as needed.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, accurately and timely.
- Assist patients with mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and transfer equipment.
- Respond promptly to patient call lights and emergencies during the night shift.
- Document patient care activities, symptoms, and progress in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Collaborate closely with nursing staff and physicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Current New York State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is mandatory.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care facility is preferred but not always required.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be available to work rotating night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM).
