Responsibilities

  • Monitor Patient Vitals: Accurately measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate, ensuring all data is logged into electronic health records (EHR) promptly.
  • Personal Care Assistance: Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting, respecting patient dignity and privacy at all times.
  • Medication Management: Assist patients with medication administration under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), ensuring proper documentation and adherence to medication schedules.
  • Communication: Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team, reporting changes in patient condition or concerns immediately to the Charge Nurse.
  • Environment Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitized patient environment, following infection control protocols and safety regulations.
  • Mobility Support: Safely assist patients with ambulation and transfer using proper body mechanics and assistive devices to prevent injury.

Qualifications

  • Certification: Current and active California State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license and registration.
  • BLS Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
