Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Respond promptly to patient call lights and emergency needs throughout the night shift.
- Document patient care activities, changes in condition, and responses to treatments in electronic health records (EHR).
- Collaborate effectively with the nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients and visitors.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Maryland required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Previous experience in a hospital, nursing home, or acute care setting preferred.
- Ability to work rotating night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift, and transfer patients weighing up to 250 lbs as needed.
