Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates accurately.
- Mobility Support: Safely assist patients with transfers, walking, and wheelchair positioning to prevent falls and promote comfort.
- Communication: Act as the liaison between residents, families, and the nursing staff to report changes in patient behavior or condition immediately.
- Meal Assistance: Serve meals and help residents with feeding if necessary, adhering to specific dietary restrictions and hydration needs.
- Environment Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for residents by following sanitation and infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- Experience: No prior healthcare experience is required. We value attitude and work ethic over experience.
- Certification: Must hold a current, unencumbered CNA license in the State of Illinois or be willing to enroll in and complete a state-approved CNA training program immediately.
- Skills: Basic computer literacy and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, lift and transfer patients (up to 50 lbs), and perform physical tasks as required by the job.
- Availability: Must be flexible to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
