Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rate, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Hygiene & Comfort: Ensure patient rooms are clean, sanitized, and organized to maintain a safe and healing environment.
- Communication: Effectively communicate patient status and concerns to RNs, LPNs, and physicians, acting as an advocate for our patients' needs.
- Assistance: Support patients with mobility, transferring them safely from beds to wheelchairs or walkers using proper body mechanics.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient care records and logs as required by facility policy.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: No prior experience required; however, completion of a state-approved CNA training program or equivalent healthcare experience is a plus.
- Certification: Current CNA certification (or eligibility to obtain) within the state of California.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks associated with patient care.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.
- Availability: Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
