Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse) accurately and report any abnormalities to the nursing staff.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and walking using proper body mechanics and safety equipment.
- Prepare meals and assist patients with eating and drinking to ensure proper nutrition and hydration.
- Document patient care activities, daily progress, and any changes in condition in the electronic health record.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment to prevent infections and ensure patient comfort.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to provide a holistic care experience.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Must possess a valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Strong desire to learn and grow within the healthcare field.
- Excellent communication skills and a patient, empathetic demeanor.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs safely.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Willingness to obtain CNA certification or currently enrolled in a CNA training program.
