Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring their dignity and comfort at all times.
- Vital Signs: Accurately monitor and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Assistance: Support patients with mobility issues, transferring them safely from beds to wheelchairs or walkers using proper body mechanics.
- Communication: Effectively communicate patient needs and changes in condition to the nursing staff and healthcare team.
- Hospitality: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, ensuring rooms are sanitized and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Documentation: Complete accurate documentation of patient care activities and observations in electronic health records (EHR).
- Emotional Support: Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to patients and their families during their stay.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma: A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
- Willingness to Learn: A positive attitude and a strong desire to learn healthcare skills, even without prior certification.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Empathy: A genuine passion for helping others and a patient-centered approach to care.
- Reliability: Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential for this role.
- CPR Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred but not mandatory (we offer training).
