Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
- Monitor Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, reporting any abnormalities immediately.
- Assist with Mobility: Help patients move safely between bed and chair, utilize walkers or wheelchairs, and prevent falls within the facility.
- Document Patient Information: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in electronic health records (EHR) systems, documenting care provided and changes in condition.
- Medication Assistance: Under the supervision of a registered nurse, remind patients to take prescribed medications and observe for adverse reactions.
- Maintain a Clean Environment: Ensure patient rooms and common areas are clean, sanitary, and organized to promote a safe healing environment.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Tennessee.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical or long-term care setting preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
- Compassion: Genuine passion for helping others and a strong sense of empathy.
