Responsibilities
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, and grooming to ensure maximum comfort and hygiene.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, reporting significant changes to the nursing staff immediately.
- Support patients with mobility issues by utilizing walkers, wheelchairs, and transfer equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions, ensuring patients maintain proper nutrition.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and documentation in accordance with hospital policies and HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to implement patient care plans and provide emotional support to patients and their families.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license valid in the state of Illinois.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred but not mandatory for the right candidate.
- Strong compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to improve patients' quality of life.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients as needed.
