Responsibilities
- Perform Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist Providers: Support physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and procedures.
- Phlebotomy: Draw blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis with precision and care.
- Administer Medications: Prepare and administer medications as directed by providers, adhering to safety protocols.
- EHR Management: Update Electronic Health Records (Epic/Cerner) with patient information, insurance details, and visit notes.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and preventative care strategies.
- Room Preparation: Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and sanitized before patient arrival.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification required.
- Licensure: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a physician's office or urgent care setting preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) software and medical equipment.
- Dependability: Ability to work weekends (Saturday & Sunday) and holidays as required.
