Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Monitor Health Status: Observe and report changes in patient condition, vital signs, and behavior to the nursing staff and physicians immediately.
- Administer Care: Perform basic medical treatments, such as measuring vital signs, recording intake and output, and changing wound dressings under supervision.
- Maintain Patient Environment: Ensure the patient’s room is clean, safe, and organized, adhering to all infection control and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with Team: Communicate effectively with the nursing team, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Document Care: Accurately document patient care activities and observations in electronic medical records (EMR) as required.
Qualifications
- Current Licensure: Must possess a valid and active North Carolina CNA license.
- Certifications: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications are required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and staff.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks related to patient care.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or acute care setting is highly preferred.
