Responsibilities
- Monitor patient vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, and pulse, and report any abnormalities to the nursing staff.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide personal hygiene care and support with mobility and positioning to ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Document patient care activities, symptoms, progress, and care plans accurately in electronic health records.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
- Assist in the preparation of meals and ensure that patients receive proper nutrition and hydration.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitized environment in accordance with health department regulations.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Illinois.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (ACLS preferred).
- Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting is highly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift patients (up to 50 lbs), and perform manual tasks.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
