Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Medication Assistance: Support patients with medication administration as directed by licensed nurses, ensuring adherence to medication schedules.
- Hygiene & Environment: Maintain a clean, safe, and infection-free environment for patients, ensuring linens and equipment are sanitized.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care and emotional support.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient care activities, intake and output, and changes in condition in electronic health records.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and active CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) license issued by the State of Colorado.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Training: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to empathize with patients.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, transfer, and position patients safely (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Experience: Prior experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not always required for qualified candidates.
