Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care: Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, in a respectful and professional manner.
- Monitor patient health: Record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and report any changes in condition to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist with mobility: Help patients move safely between beds, wheelchairs, and other areas using proper body mechanics to prevent injury.
- Administer medications: Follow physician orders and medication protocols to deliver prescribed medications and treatments under supervision.
- Communicate with families: Keep patients' families informed about their loved ones' condition and progress, acting as a liaison between the family and the care team.
- Maintain a clean environment: Ensure patient rooms and common areas are clean, safe, and sanitized according to hospital hygiene standards.
Qualifications
- Current CNA Certification: Must hold a valid and active Certified Nursing Assistant license issued by the state of Missouri.
- High School Diploma: or GED equivalent is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- CPR Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Strong Compassion: Ability to demonstrate empathy and patience when working with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent observation skills to notice subtle changes in a patient's condition.
- Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals.
