Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and compassion.
- Monitor Patient Health: Take and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration) and report any changes in patient condition to the charge nurse immediately.
- Assist with Medical Procedures: Support the nursing staff with wound care, catheter care, specimen collection, and other basic medical tasks.
- Maintain Documentation: Accurately complete patient charts, flow sheets, and incident reports in a timely and thorough manner.
- Ensure Patient Safety: Implement fall prevention strategies and maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for patients.
- Communicate Effectively: Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure holistic care.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and valid CNA License in the State of California required.
- Training: Completion of an accredited CNA training program.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR): Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience: Prior experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or home health setting is preferred but not mandatory for qualified candidates.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform physical assistance as required.
