Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Provide basic medical care and assistance with daily living activities to patients in accordance with their care plans.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, and pulse, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Hygiene & Comfort: Assist patients with bathing, dressing, and grooming to ensure their dignity and comfort.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team, ensuring clear and empathetic communication at all times.
- Mobility Assistance: Help patients move safely from beds to wheelchairs or stretchers, and reposition them to prevent bedsores.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and patient charts.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to hospital safety protocols and infection control procedures.
Qualifications
- Education: Must possess a valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification and current state license.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is highly preferred.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift patients weighing up to 250 lbs is required.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Technical: Basic computer literacy for electronic health record entry.
