Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, and grooming in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Assistance with Mobility: Safely transfer patients using appropriate techniques and equipment to prevent injury.
- Communication: Effectively communicate changes in patient conditions to the nursing staff and physicians.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and patient charts.
- Hygiene Maintenance: Ensure patient rooms and common areas are clean, sanitized, and organized.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to patient calls and emergency situations following established protocols.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid New York State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- CPR/BLS: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Experience: Prior experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not required for immediate hires.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Background Check: Completion of a background check and drug screen.
