Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care including bathing, dressing, and grooming assistance to residents.
  • Monitor vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse) and report any changes in patient condition to the nursing staff immediately.
  • Assist with mobility and transfer patients safely using proper techniques and assistive devices.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team regarding patient needs and concerns.
  • Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring dietary restrictions are followed.

Qualifications

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of California required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks, including lifting and bending.
  • Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting is preferred but not always required.
