Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate direct patient care to residents and patients under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Observe and report any changes in a patient’s physical or emotional condition to the Charge Nurse or Registered Nurse immediately.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring all dietary restrictions are respected.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, including stocking supplies and sanitizing equipment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team.
Qualifications
- Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Tennessee.
- CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross is mandatory.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care facility is preferred but not required for high-potential candidates.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull patients and equipment up to 50 lbs as necessary.
- Flexibility to work rotating weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday) as required by the department.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems (EHR) is a plus.
