Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist patients with mobility issues and transfer them safely using proper techniques.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and patient needs.
- Observe and report any changes in a patient’s physical or mental condition to the RN or Charge Nurse immediately.
- Assist with light housekeeping and maintaining a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment.
- Document all care activities and patient interactions accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in good standing with the State of Louisiana (required).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
- Previous experience in a long-term care facility or hospital setting is preferred but not required.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
