Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate patient care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, including walking, transferring to wheelchairs, and positioning.
- Communicate changes in patient condition or mood to the Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse immediately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Document daily care activities and patient responses accurately in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure holistic care.
Qualifications
- Current, valid, and unencumbered Kansas State CNA or STNA license.
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) required.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (ACLS preferred).
- Previous experience in a hospital, nursing home, or home health setting is highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift patients (up to 50 lbs) as needed.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
