Responsibilities
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and individual patient needs.
- Provide basic wound care and change dressings under the supervision of nursing staff.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized patient environment to prevent infections and accidents.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team regarding patient status and care plans.
- Support patients with mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license valid in the State of Illinois.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or CPR certification required.
- Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care facility, or home health setting is highly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods (up to 50 lbs).
- Compassionate demeanor and a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
