Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record patient vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature accurately and timely.
- Hygiene Support: Provide assistance with personal hygiene, including changing bed linens and assisting with mobility to prevent bedsores.
- Communication: Communicate patient status changes and concerns to the nursing staff and physicians promptly.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and medical logs as required by facility policy.
- Safety: Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff by following proper infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and valid State of California or New York CNA License required.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification are mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Compassion: Strong ability to demonstrate empathy and patience when caring for vulnerable populations.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift patients (up to 50 lbs) as needed.
