Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Vital Signs: Accurately monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records and charts using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Communication: Effectively communicate patient status changes and needs to the nursing staff and physicians.
- Hygiene & Safety: Ensure the cleanliness and safety of patient rooms and common areas at all times.
- Assistance: Support medical procedures and administer prescribed medications under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and active CNA certification (or license to practice) in the state of employment.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not always required.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients as needed throughout the shift.
- Compassion: A genuine passion for helping others and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
