Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring their dignity and comfort are maintained.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and patient charts, documenting care provided and any changes in patient condition.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure everyone is informed about patient needs and status.
- Hygiene & Safety: Ensure patient rooms and common areas are clean, safe, and sanitized to prevent infection and promote a healing environment.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to patient calls and assist in emergency situations as directed by nursing staff.
Qualifications
- Education: Must possess a current, active Illinois State CNA license.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not always required for exceptional candidates.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and transfer patients, and perform physical tasks as needed.
