Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including bathing, dressing, and grooming assistance to ensure patient hygiene and comfort.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist patients with mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and equipment to prevent injury.
- Administer medication and treatments as directed by licensed nurses, maintaining accurate documentation.
- Observe and report changes in patient behavior, physical condition, or symptoms to the charge nurse or physician.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment, adhering to all infection control protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Michigan required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient advocacy.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Pass a background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.
