Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist residents with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Medication Assistance: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the nursing staff, following strict protocols.
- Meal Assistance: Serve and assist residents with meals, ensuring dietary needs are met and monitoring for any swallowing difficulties.
- Environment Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, including turning and repositioning patients to prevent bedsores.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with the nursing team and family members regarding patient conditions and any changes in status.
- Documentation: Complete accurate and timely documentation in patient charts as required by state regulations and facility policy.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current North Carolina State Board of Nursing CNA certification required.
- Experience: Prior experience in long-term care, geriatrics, or acute care is preferred but not required for qualified candidates.
- Availability: Must be available to work rotating night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend frequently throughout the shift (up to 50 lbs).
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- CPR Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
