Responsibilities
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families during their stay.
- Assist with patient mobility, transfers, and positioning using proper body mechanics to prevent injury.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients and adhere to all infection control protocols.
- Communicate effectively with the nursing team and physicians to ensure the highest quality of care is delivered.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Current CNA Certification in New York State (or eligibility to obtain certification within 90 days).
- Strong desire to work in a healthcare environment and a genuine passion for helping others.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to use electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Valid driverβs license and reliable transportation (preferred).
