Responsibilities
- Accurately compound and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control and ordering of pharmaceutical supplies
- Maintain precise medication records and documentation
- Process insurance claims and patient billing inquiries
- Ensure compliance with DEA, FDA, and Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers
- Assist in training new pharmacy technicians
Qualifications
- Active DC Pharmacy Technician certification required
- Minimum 2 years hospital/pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding techniques
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Pass background check and drug screening
