Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare, label, and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Maintain precise inventory control and ordering systems for pharmaceutical supplies
- Process insurance claims and manage patient medication records in compliance with HIPAA
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and potential side effects
- Operate automated dispensing systems and maintain sterile compounding areas
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal medication therapy outcomes
Qualifications
- Active New Mexico Pharmacy Technician certification required
- Prior hospital or retail pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and drug interactions
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell)
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Valid New Mexico driver's license for occasional supply runs
