Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Maintain precise medication inventory and automated dispensing systems
- Process third-party insurance claims and verify patient eligibility
- Provide exceptional patient consultations on medication usage and side effects
- Ensure compliance with DEA, TSBP, and HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers for medication therapy management
- Train new pharmacy technicians on standard operating procedures
Qualifications
- Active Tennessee Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 2 years retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (QS1, Omnicell, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding techniques
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environment
- Basic math and pharmaceutical calculation proficiency
- Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain
