Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and compound medications according to prescriptions
- Verify patient information and insurance coverage
- Maintain inventory management and ordering systems
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling
- Ensure strict compliance with DEA, HIPAA, and FDA regulations
- Operate pharmacy technology systems (eRx, inventory software)
- Collaborate with pharmacists on clinical initiatives
- Maintain sterile compounding environments
Qualifications
- Active Texas Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB/ExCPT)
- Minimum 1 year retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and math
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25 lbs
- Attention to detail with zero-error medication handling
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
