Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently according to established protocols.
- Verify prescriptions for correct drug, dosage, and patient information; communicate any discrepancies to the pharmacist.
- Assist patients with medication inquiries and provide basic education on usage and storage.
- Manage inventory, including ordering, stocking, and organizing pharmaceutical supplies to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Process insurance claims and handle billing inquiries with precision and confidentiality.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized pharmacy environment in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Qualifications
- Current California State Board of Pharmacy Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
