Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications to patients, ensuring proper dosages and labeling.
- Verify patient information and insurance details against prescriptions to ensure compliance.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and performing cycle counts.
- Assist the Pharmacist with compounding and preparing sterile products (IVs).
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions and resolving billing inquiries.
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and pharmacy safety protocols.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize patient medication therapy.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required (PTCB or ExCPT).
- Current Arizona State Pharmacy Board license or ability to obtain one immediately.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with pharmacy management software.
