Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count and manage surgical instruments, sponges, and needles before/during/after cases
- Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of surgical equipment
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Maintain compliance with OSHA and AORN standards
- Collaborate with surgical team to ensure seamless case flow
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent operating room experience
- Knowledge of surgical procedures across multiple specialties
- Strong understanding of sterile processing principles
- BLS/CPR certification from accredited provider
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends/on-call
