Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery
- Position patients and prepare surgical sites
- Operate sterilization equipment and maintain inventory of surgical supplies
- Document procedures and maintain equipment records
- Collaborate with nursing and anesthesia teams to ensure seamless care delivery
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Graduate of accredited Surgical Technology program
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience preferred
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Knowledge of sterile processing protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
