Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile fields and ensure aseptic techniques
- Count surgical supplies and equipment pre/post-procedure
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for patient care
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
- Manage surgical inventory and equipment sterilization cycles
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years recent OR experience
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Knowledge of sterile processing and HIPAA compliance
- Ability to stand for extended periods during procedures
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Experience with orthopedic/general surgery preferred
- Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
