Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor patient vital signs and document surgical events accurately
- Manage inventory of surgical supplies and equipment in OR suites
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and sterile processing protocols
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent surgical tech experience in acute care setting
- Knowledge of sterile processing and aseptic techniques
- BLS/CPR certification (must maintain current)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in fast-paced environments
- Texas state license or eligibility for immediate licensure
