Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterile fields according to safety protocols
- Assist surgeons during procedures with instrument handling and wound exposure
- Maintain accurate counts of surgical instruments, sponges, and sharps
- Operate sterilization equipment and ensure instrument processing standards
- Transport patients and specimens between departments
- Document procedural details in electronic health records
- Collaborate with RNs and anesthesia teams for seamless care coordination
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience preferred
- BLS certification from AHA required
- Knowledge of sterile processing standards (AAMI/ASHE)
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-stress environments
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Experience with minimally invasive surgical techniques a plus
