Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile fields
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile environments
- Count surgical supplies and equipment pre/post-procedure to ensure accountability
- Transport patients and position them for optimal surgical access
- Manage sterile processing and instrument maintenance protocols
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for coordinated patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care surgical experience
- Current BLS certification from AHA
- Knowledge of sterile processing standards (AAMI/SPD)
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Experience with robotic surgical systems preferred
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
